Olympus PEN EE-2 Half Frame 35mm Film Camera Fixed Focus Auto Exp Silver w/ Cap

A beautiful classic Olympus-PEN EE-2, a very popular Japanese half-frame film camera and a fantastic piece of Olympus history.

The EE-2 is particularly interesting because it uses half-frame 35mm photography, meaning each standard 35mm film frame is divided into two vertical images. With a normal 36-exposure roll, you can get around 72 photographs, making it an economical and fun camera to shoot with.

It features the excellent Olympus D.Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 lens, giving an equivalent field of view of roughly 40mm in full-frame terms. It’s a great focal length for everyday photography, travel, street photography and family snapshots.

The EE-2 is one of those cameras that is genuinely enjoyable to use — small, light and beautifully simple, while producing twice as many photographs from a roll of film. The half-frame format also gives the photographs a distinctive vertical composition that has become very popular again with film photographers.

Condition

The camera presents very nicely overall for its age, with some normal signs of use and age-related marks to the body. The distinctive textured covering is still in good condition, and the camera has a very attractive original vintage appearance.

The lens looks clean and clear from inspection, and the viewfinder is also in good condition. The film chamber is clean and looks well preserved.
